Stuart Weitzman Platswoon

Stuart Weitzman – Platswoon (Mushroom Crystal Snake) – Footwear
 $325 from Zappos.

Well, it looks like I’m obsessed with anything nude at the moment which is a nod to the current styles. I love the snake print and the beautiful mushroom colour, that’s my main reason for showing you these shoes in the first place. They would work very well as an office footwear as the platform is not too excessive if high heels is your cup of tea.

Secondly, I love the almond shaped toe which allows for more room for the toes. As they are designed by Stuart Weitzman, that pretty much sums up the quality of the footwear with the price tag of $325. If you’re a fan of mushroom colour, you may just consider it worth purchasing.

If you’re not a fan of the featured colour, meanwhile, they also come in variety of other uppers, including aniline patent, black patent, hummus aniline, natural cork, red quasar patent and toast ironed linen.

SamCam’s fashion faux pas: PM’s wife is only VIP not to wear a hat for the wedding

It’s no secret that the British love an opportunity to wear a hat. But not Samantha Cameron, it seems, who broke from tradition by refusing to wear a headpiece to the Royal Wedding today.

The Prime Minister’s wife, whose turquoise Burberry dress and vibrant orange stole has already won high praise from fashion editors, instead wore a small jewelled clasp in her hair.

The jewelled clip, by London-based label Erdem, flew the flag for British design, while her nude platform shoes were from High Street store Aldo.

Did I forget something? Samantha Cameron, who chose not to wear a hat to the Royal Wedding, self-consciously touches her jewelled hair decoration as she arrives at Westminster Abbey

Her husband, who, like the groom, went to school at Eton, was rather more traditional in his attire, going for formal morning dress.

Of course many would argue that while hats were once de rigueur at any wedding, let alone one at an abbey, it is a diminishing social trend.

Etiquette guide Debretts reads: ‘Hats are traditional, but by no means compulsory, at British weddings, and a matter of personal choice for christenings or funerals.’

Hat-free: Prime Minister David Cameron wore a traditional morning suit, but his wife, while chic in a teal Burberry dress and Erdem necklace, broke from tradition by choosing not to wear a headpiece

And while Brides magazine advocates headwear as proper wedding dress for women, they are not compulsory for the whole day.

The magazine website reads; ‘The accepted rule is that you don’t take them off until the Mother of the Bride removes hers.

‘As
with most etiquette rules this is based on old tradition; hats were
typically removed as the men took off their jackets and retired for
cigarettes.’

But while
etiquette may excuse SamCam, fashion critics seem to be less forgiving.
Social networking site Twitter was abuzz with thousands of comments
focusing on Ms Cameron’s hat-free stance.

‘Samantha
Cameron without a hat = treason’, said one user, siobhankirby86, while
another, @NatalieRHarris, ranted: ‘As much as I loved her hair jewels,
why the hell wasn’t lazy Samantha Cameron wearing a hat?!’

Another,
@ShaZZyBaBBy, remarked: ‘There’s always one trying 2 be difficult and
cause a stir at these Royal occasions *COUGH! Samantha Cameron…was it
so hard 2 wear a hat?!’

@clarefs360
brought Princess Beatrice’s hat into the debate with her spiky comment,
remarking: ‘Samantha Cameron may just be the only woman in the Abbey
without a hat. Although perhaps Princess Beatrice should have followed
her example.’

Another is even more passionate. mmmmAsh tweets: ‘I hope a pigeon c**** on Samantha Cameron for not wearing a hat.’

Although
Mrs Cameron made the decision not to wear a hat, many other guests more
than made up for it. Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Tara Palmer
Tomkinson and Victoria Beckham all chose eye-catching millinery by
Philip Treacy.

The raft of criticism aimed
at the PM’s wife does not seem to fit the crime – especially given that
Mrs Cameron was by no means lacking in patriotic wedding spirit,
hosting a street party on Downing Street after the ceremony.

Meanwhile,  London Mayor Boris Johnson claimed he had hired his wedding tails from high street store Moss Bros.

At 5ft 11in, Speaker’s wife Sally Bercow always towers over her 5ft 6in husband John. But she made the difference even more marked yesterday by choosing high heels.

She wore a black and white patterned dress which featured a slit to her mid-thigh and a plunging neckline. On Twitter, fashion pundits branded it ‘uber-booby’.

Ed Miliband’s fiancée, Justine Thornton, took the safe option with a long-sleeved deep purple outfit.

Red, white and blue bunting adorned the railings around the Prime Minister’s residence, adding a festive feel.

The party was held to raise funds for Save the Children, of which Samantha Cameron is an ambassador, among other charities.

Guests included children from local
schools and representatives of Age UK and Contact the Elderly, as well
as young charity fundraisers.

Partygoers ate egg sandwiches and red
jelly from paper plates and drank orange squash and bitter lemon from
paper cups, and tea poured from stainless steel teapots into white china
cups.

Red, white and blue bunting adorning
the black brick facade fluttered in the gentle breeze while bride and
groom garden gnomes stood next to eight Union flags planted next to a
flower bed in a tiny patch of grass outside No 10.

She still looks lovely sans the hat, love the colour of her dress.

cameron has too much break in his trousers……….mrs cameron looks like she is going for a capuccino with some work mates…………….borris looks like he just jumped off a london bus……… mr speaker looks like a tall kevin keegan……….and ed milliband either has a canoe in his pocket, or he is extremely glad to see justine thornton.

she looked better than those wearing stupid hats. read some boards from other countries: they think the hats are funny and are laughing furiously. a lovely hat is nice; these things that look stapled on are ridiculous.

“She settled for…..” W-R-O-N-G !!
The jewelled clasp she wore in her hair was lovely…but….the occasion called for a hat.
The Camerons seem to be to frequently on the opposite side of good judgement these days. Too bad.

While I thought that she looked really pretty and her hair looked great (for a change), I do think that it was bad form not to wear a hat or at least some type of a head piece (the clasp looks a bit tacky).

The Johnsons and Bercows could play at Wife Swap – the swapped couples would be a perfect match height-wise.

Pippa Middleton wowed everybody in her Sarah Burton bridesmaid dress – and now she looks stunning for the evening reception celebrating her sister Kate’s marriage to Prince William.

Wearing an emerald green floor-length gown with diamante detailing on the waist and shoulders, she has accessorised with a silver bag and high-heeled shoes to ensure she shines.

The tan is a bit of overkill but we can forgive her for that.

The deep plunging neckline shows off a hint of cleavage – it is quite daring but is the perfect gown for an evening event and she clearly isn’t afraid to stand out from the crowd.

With Kate sticking to white with her second dress of the day, Pippa is in danger of upstaging her sister.

Bridal tradition meets high fashion in a piece of pure couture loveliness

IN the end it was a tiny detail that gave it away.

The tuck of a black studded belt, flashed briefly on camera outside The Goring Hotel in London on Thursday night, told the world exactly who had made Catherine Middleton’s dress.

The rumours were true: Sarah Burton, the designer at the helm of British label Alexander McQueen, had been chosen. The fashion world knew it the minute the petite designer, dressed as ever in flat shoes, cropped trousers and that trademark belt, came into view. It was to be a McQueen wedding dress.

In British fashion terms the news couldn’t be any more perfect.

When we all eventually saw her creation, as Kate stepped out of the car at Westminster Abbey, it did not disappoint. Made from ivory and white satin gazar, it really was a picture of couture loveliness.

Fashion editors and commentators were united in their praise: this was exactly the kind of dress we wanted to see.

The wonderful thing about Kate’s dress is that it married the best of bridal traditions with the very best of high fashion. The demure, sweetheart neckline and the necessary long sleeves were mixed with a bustle of over-sized pleats towards the back of the dress.

It was this high fashion detail that set Kate’s dress apart – this was Princess material, but with an edge of personality, exactly the kind of thing the occasion needed.

Ms Burton had created a fairytale of a dress. There were echoes of Grace Kelly’s gown for her wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco, but also nods to the late McQueen, whose work so often drew inspiration from tradition and indeed royalty.

Clarence House was keen to point out that Kate had played a key role in designing the dress, and undoubtedly her simple, elegant style shone through on the day.

But undoubtedly this was Burton’s creation, Burton’s imagination come to life in fabric.

It was, as I’m sure will be said many times in the next few days, a dress fit for a future (Mc)Queen.
